My Grandma was one of my dearest friends. I felt so fortunate when
she was willing to relocate to Hudson with us (after 80+ years on
Lapham St. in West Allis). My Grandma was always there for me, helping
whenever asked. While I trust she is home with our Dear Lord, and
reunited with my Grandpa, I miss her so very much - she was an incredible
part of my life, and in the lives of my children. I pray she knows
how very much I love her still. I simply wasn't ready for her to
go.
Our dear elderly are a cherished part of our lives, whom we should
treasure, honor and respect - they have so much to offer - don't
wait until it's too late to realize it.
Before going home to the Lord, my Grandma spoke of 'paradise' and
of learning that "there was something most beautiful ahead".
Although she seemed to be asleep, my mother and I prayed the Our
Father and Hail Mary with my Grandma - moments later, her eyes opened,
she pulled her hands to her heart and a slight smile came across
her face - she went home to Jesus!
I miss you dearly Grandma, and will always love you! Thank you for
sharing your faith in Jesus Christ with me, and for teaching me
to pray. May perpetual light shine upon you, and may we be reunited
in the presence of our Dear Lord.
