Just writing to check up on you and to tell you we all miss you
and will carry you with us always. Do you want to hear something
really neat? OK, on Friday, February 1, 2002, a guest speaker came
in and told us about a disease her brother had. I think she called
it "acute leukemia." She had to share her bone marrow
with her brother. When the doctors gave him the bone marrow, he
was able to go home. When he got home, everything was sanitized
so he couldn't get sick anymore. Everything except his garage. One
day, he decided to clean his garage and inhaled some of the dust
and died. The reason I'm telling you this is because, my teacher
asked if we wanted to share a story about that kind of stuff. I
shared your life and how you were so important to 1000's of people.
Also, how brave and strong you were. It felt good to share you with
my friends and teacher. Well, I have to go now; but, I will write
again soon to keep you up on things that are going on. I love you
so much!
Your Granddaughter,
Kassi
Hey Kassi,
Sorry to hear of your Grandma's death. She obviously was and
is an important person to you. After all, that's why God invented
Grandmas, right? I believe Grandma is smiling down from heaven on
her precious granddaughter with the kool Kassi name who found it
important enough to "share (her) with my friends and teacher."
Your grief work now is to recreate the relationship you had while
Grandma was present here on earth to a relationship of memory, and
that is precisely what you are doing with your actions last week
and your expressions of love here today. Keep up the good work,
kiddo. And smile - God loves you. So does your Grandma. Still.
God Speed Your Grief Journey,
