Werner, Theresa (1924-2005) |
Theresa was born on September 3,1924 in Milwaukee. Her parents were Adam and Elizabeth Lehmann. She was one of eight children. She went to St. Joseph School in Milwaukee and then to West Division High School.
She went to business school to be trained for office work. She loved going to social clubs where she had met Tony Werner. They both were older when they met and married six months later.
Both Tony and Theresa loved to dance and both worked hard. They had two children, Robert and Mary Ann. Tony and Theresa celebrated their 25th anniversary with a party.
The best thing I remember about Theresa was her giving herself to everyone. She volunteered for many things. She loved helping the Little Sisters of the Poor.
In 1973 Tony died suddenly, but Theresa never stopped. She was the person you could always count on to help. In 2003 she received the "Volunteer of the Year" award from St. Anne's Home for the Elderly. Actually she helped for over 40 years.
When she passed away I seemed to understand the reason why we are here on earth. My father and mother have installed it in my brother and me. We are not to be afraid to die because we are going home when it happens. We seem to be at peace that eventually we will see them again.
