Raszeja, Robert F. (1942-2002) |
Robert was born June 8th 1942 to Bernard Raszeja and Violet Bartimore. He was the eldest of six, Karen, Kitty, Paul, Larry and Mary Jo. He made a life time of achievments his short sixty years on this earth. He spent most of his life in the Bay View area. His dedication to his neighborhood and friends were endless. He was the President of the Inter-Organizational Counsil of Bay View, Chairman of the grounds crew for the South Shore Water Frolics for many years and was also the owner of Somthin's Fishy pet store. He later sold the business and started a trucking Company by the name of Quality Freight Systems, which was the main carrier of Emery Air Frieght.
In the early 90's he decided to take life easy because of health reasons and moved to Tichigan. His semi retirement only lasted a brief time. He took over ownership of a tavern and restaurant and named it Robert's Cruise In. He was a street rod enthusiast and had made the tavern decor after that passion. After building the business from a little bar with a few grill items to a major restaurant. Sponsoring car shows for the Special Olympics hosting the VFW and the Ladies Auxcillary. His health again posed a problem. He had moved back to Milwaukee, But again he could not sit around and let life pass him by. He took over ownership of Scotty's Bar & Pizza on Clement Ave.
Were he spent his last four years doing what he loved best.
