Kulwicki, Alan, December, 14, 1954 – April 1, 1993.
Alan Kulwicki was born and raised in Greenfield, Wisconsin. After earning his college degree in engineering, Alan became heavily interested in stock car racing. He was famous for driving his car backwards on a victory lap around the race track. In 1992, Alan won the NASCAR national championship. He was the first college graduate and Northerner to win the title, NASCAR Rookie of the Year 1986.
Alan Kulwicki was killed in a plane crash on April 1, 1993; interment in St. Adalbert Cemetery, Milwaukee WI.
